Orthodontics at North Texas Smiles –
Guiding Your Child’s Growing Smile

At North Texas Smiles, we’re all about helping your little one grow up with a confident, healthy smile that supports their overall well-being. As your child develops, I personally love keeping a close eye on how their face, jaws, teeth and bite are coming together. It’s so rewarding to catch things early and guide that growth in the best possible way!

We check everything at every visit, your child’s facial structure, teeth alignment and bite to make sure things are progressing beautifully. Spotting potential bite issues early can make a huge difference: it helps prevent speech challenges, supports better chewing and digestion, and often means simpler fixes now instead of bigger ones later. My goal is always to set your child up for lifelong success with their oral health.

Beyond those regular check-ins, we offer full orthodontic care right here in our comfortable Fort Worth office. Whether it’s the right time for gentle early guidance or comprehensive treatment, we’ll work together to find the perfect plan for your child’s unique needs and stage of growth.

Orthodontic Evaluation:
Planning Ahead with Care

I take the time to thoroughly assess your child’s oral development during an evaluation. We’ll look at their teeth, gums, jaw bones, muscles and overall facial harmony. This gives us (and you!) a clear picture so we can plan ahead thoughtfully catching opportunities to support proper growth before issues become more complex. It’s all about being proactive so your child can breathe, sleep, eat and smile with ease as they grow.

Our Two-Phase Approach:
Tailored to Your Child’s Growth

If we see that treatment will benefit your child, we often use a gentle two-phase plan that’s designed around their natural development.
In Phase I (early interceptive treatment, usually around ages 4–10), the focus is on creating space and guiding growth. This might include palatal expansion, an active retainer, or partial braces to help widen the jaws, make room for permanent teeth, improve the upper-lower jaw relationship, and support healthy airway development. The earlier we guide things, the more we can prevent crowding or bite problems down the road setting a strong foundation for a beautiful, functional smile.
